The range naturally depends on how the vehicle is utilized, with factors like human power, weight, and environmental conditions playing their parts. But generally, the vehicle will do 26 miles on throttle or 60 miles on pedal assist when using the long-range battery and X1 Pro motor.
When it comes to cargo, there's no comparison. Our vehicle is many times more powerful at hauling than the other guys on the market. Yes, whether you're bringing in the catch of the day, or moving potted plants around the garden, the Overland Labz three-wheeler has a built-in cargo basket and is trailer-compatible. You can also substitute a cargo platform.
Although our vehicle is an unclassified electric bike, it can be used in a street-legal fashion in most localities when configured for 750 watts motor power and pedal assist is utilized. In order to be street-legal in most localities in the United States, the motor power must be limited to 750 watts and the speed limited to 28 mph. Making these adjustments makes our trike a Class 2 pedelec vehicle. Check with your local traffic enforcement authorities.
Our vehicle is many times more powerful than those. Our vehicle is American-assembled and tuned. We use an outboard battery to ensure it's easy to swap in the field. And we use and outboard motor to ensure wide support for convenient service and repair by any qualified mechanic.
Yes, if you prefer to operate your vehicle using only pedal assist, the throttle can be disconnected by the owner. Refer to your operator's guide for details.
Yes, however the headlights, display, and motor power will not function in this state. The vehicle will behave just like a non-electric three-wheeler.
3 hours will fully charge the battery. The battery can be charged while attached to the bike, or while detached.
The battery is good for 200 charge cycles or up to 12,000 miles.
When not in use, keep the vehicle clean and dry. Use a blow gun to remove excess dirt and debris from the chains and sprockets. Keep the chains clean.
We recommend storing the vehicle in a dry, indoor, low-humidity place. We do not recommend outdoor storage.
Tires should be inflated before each ride to maintain a consistent air pressure of 22 PSI. If you prefer a more grabby ride, you may go as low as 18 PSI to improve traction on earthen surfaces, but this will reduce the efficiency of the vehicle.
Every 2000 miles the trike should be re-tensioned and tuned up by a professional mechanic. We offer concierge service for locating a service provider locally to perform your service.
Riders 5'5'' and taller can enjoy the vehicle when following the guidelines in the Overland Labz operator's manual. A helmet is required.
Don't ride the Overland Labz three-wheeled vehicle beyond an incline/descent of 12.5 degrees on a perpendicular (head-on) approach, at 5 degrees on a parallel or tacking approach. If you're not sure what these terms mean, refer to the Overland Labz operator's guide.
Maintaining a safe speed is important. At higher speeds, the vehicle will be less able to handle turns and swerves, and will take longer to stop. For this reason, we recommend reducing speed to 6 mph when preparing for a turn and practicing cautious riding behavior at all times.
Our vehicle's steering supports turning on inclines of 5 degrees or less at a safe speed. The rider's body weight can be used to move the gravitational center of the vehicle to enhance steering, and the brakes can be used for this purpose too.
The optional differential drive allows two-wheeled drive without tire scrub by permitting both drive wheels to freewheel at a different rate. This increases the emphasis for the rider on the front brake as addition of a differential drive reduces the braking capability. So while differential drive makes positive traction a reality, it also requires the rider to operate the brakes differently.
